New Playground coming soon to Bradley Stoke

 

 

 

Rosemary Close History

 

• The original Rosemary Close Play Area was commissioned by Barrett Homes and installed by Welsco in 1997. It was subsequently passed over to Bradley Stoke Town Council.

• The original equipment was of mainly timber construction and designed for pre-school and lower primary age children. This was removed on H&S grounds in July 2007. Money was put aside over the last two years to refurbish the Play Area, £35,000.00

• A community Consultation was carried out by Southern Brooks Community Partnership in November 2007. The popular items were Slides, Climbing, Rocker /see-saw and swings. We were asked for the age range to include upper primary to reflect that the children in the area are older.

• Bradley Stoke Town Council sought four quotes and they were presented to Council. Record RSS was chosen as having the most and the most imaginative play items, which were also suitable for less able children.

• The new play equipment items to be installed are:
  - All Steel Venturer Configuration Multiplay unit comprising:
2 No 1250mm high towers, complete with DDA stairs, Fireman’s Pole, Glacier Entry, Hand Over Hand Beam, Loop Climber, Ring Bridge, Under Deck Seat, Vertical Climber, Wheelchair Transfer Deck, and 1250mm high wide slide
  - Devils Island Swing which is like a basket and suits all ages and abilities
  - Dragonfly reclined See-Saw
  - Racing Car Springer
  - Elephant Springer which is suitable for less able bodies children
  - Post Office Play Panel for the youngest imaginative play
  - Plus new litter bin, bench, wet pour surfacing and two new gates.

• The order has been placed and the expected installation date is September 2008 watch this space for up to date information.
