
PIP Presentation Evening Press Release.
PIP provides support for children and young people
who are experiencing difficulties at home, in school or within their
local community. The programme accepts referrals from agencies across
the Southern Brooks area who have concerns about 8 to 12 year olds. PIP
provides individual support, through focused

PIP has supported 16 children and young people
since the project started in April 2006 and received a further eight
referrals for individuals not suitable for the programme;
No further reported crimes by those already
offending when they started the programme;
Significant improvements in school behaviour for
those who have received education support;
Encouraging the young people to develop new skills
which they may not have usually had e.g. bike maintenance, DJ workshops
and rock climbing;
Successful and effective partnership working with
other agencies such as Social Services, the Police and Education;
Actively participating in community events;
Developing a project newsletter for children,
parents and statutory and voluntary agencies;
Successfully planning and delivering the project’s first residential
camping trip to Newton Mill in Bath
